Latvian hydrogen ecosystem stakeholders have a reason to look south this month. On 29 September the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce is running a free, English-language conference in Vilnius on the early-stage development of green hydrogen in our region, and it closes with scheduled B2B talks with five German suppliers. Registration is open and required.

The essentials
  • Date: Tuesday, 29 September 2026, 09:00 to 17:00 EEST

  • Venue: Hotel Novotel Vilnius Centre, Gedimino ave. 16, Vilnius (BALTIJA room)

  • Language: English

  • Cost: free, registration required

  • Organisers: German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce (AHK) with energiewaechter GmbH, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy

  • Contact: Eugenijus Vaitekūnas, AHK, eugenijus.vaitekunas@ahk-balt.org

What the programme covers

The day is built around three blocks: German market experience, Lithuanian policy and project reality, and the supply chain that sits between them. The key sessions:

  • Opening remarks from the German Embassy in Lithuania, the Lithuanian Ministry of Energy, the Center for Hydrogen Energy Technologies at the Lithuanian Energy Institute, and AHK Deputy CEO Dominic Otto.

  • Tobias Stein of Projektträger Jülich | Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH on the hydrogen market ramp-up in Germany, its current status and where it goes next.

  • Indrė Gečaitė of the Lithuanian Energy Agency on Lithuania’s vision for green hydrogen, framed around regional collaboration and energy independence.

  • Vytautas Ruolia, CEO of Renwise JSC, on the Lithuanian hydrogen landscape from a project developer’s seat.

  • Laura Gužienė of Amber Grid on advancing the Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor. For anyone in Latvia sizing production against a future offtake market, this is the session that matters most.

  • A closing panel on German innovations and local opportunities with Marcel Corneille (EMCEL), Tobias Stein, Vytautas Ruolia and Agnė Bagočiūtė, Director of the Lithuanian Energy Agency, followed by open Q&A.

The five German companies

Company presentations run through the morning and afternoon, and the same five firms stay for B2B talks from 15:10 to 17:00:

  • EMCEL GmbH on hydrogen quality measurement, infrastructure and fleet transition (Marcel Corneille, CEO).

  • H2Perform GmbH on turning hydrogen potential into real projects (Julius Basler-Meier, CEO).

  • Hypion GmbH on economically viable projects and market activation (Dr Stefan Rehm, CEO).

  • SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH on supply, now and for the future (Robert Klausmeyer, Senior Business Development Manager).

  • Goetze KG Armaturen on safety valves for hydrogen service (Teodor Georgiev, Team Lead Sales Eastern Europe).

How the day runs

Registration opens at 09:00 and the formal programme ends at 15:10, leaving almost two hours for meetings. The rhythm is worth knowing before you plan travel:

  • 09:00 to 10:00: registration, then opening words from the embassy, ministry, institute and AHK.

  • 10:00 to 11:10: the German block, starting with the Jülich market view and running through the EMCEL, H2Perform and Hypion presentations.

  • 11:30 to 12:25: the Lithuanian Energy Agency on national strategy, then SEFE and Goetze on supply and safety components.

  • 13:25 to 14:55: Renwise on project development, Amber Grid on the corridor, the closing panel and Q&A.

  • 15:10 to 17:00: B2B talks with all five German companies. Moderation throughout by Eugenijus Vaitekūnas of AHK.

The programme is marked subject to change, so check with AHK before you book travel. Registration is free, places are limited by the room, and the full agenda sits on the event page below.
