The Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (Clean Hydrogen JU) remains one of the key EU-level instruments for moving hydrogen technologies from R&D to deployment, while keeping Europe’s climate neutrality goals and industrial competitiveness in view. With discussions ongoing around the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the upcoming Framework Programme 10 (FP10), it is a good moment to take stock: what priorities are emerging, how might funding structures evolve, and what does this mean for organisations in the Baltic region that want to stay engaged in European hydrogen innovation.
On 13 February, an online event titled “Clean Hydrogen Calling: An Open Dialogue” will bring together speakers from the Clean Hydrogen JU and the European Commission for a practical overview of the 2026 calls and a discussion on policy direction. For Latvia and the wider Baltic region, these conversations matter not just as “EU programme updates”, but as signals for where collaboration, value chains, and project pipelines can realistically be built over the next cycle.
